Hallie Shulman joined the KCTV5 StormTrack5 weather team in April 2013. You can catch her forecasts on KCTV5 This Morning weekend edition.
Some might call it destiny, but she calls it fate that meteorology was her calling.
Being born in "the year of the comet," Shulman wanted from an early age to study the sky.
Born and raised in the Mile High City of Denver, she was thrilled at the opportunity to move to Kansas City.
Shulman came to KCTV5 after spending two and a half years as the weekend evening meteorologist just down the road in Wichita at KAKE-TV.
She gained valuable experience working in one of the most active severe weather markets in the United States.
Shulman covered everything from tornados, to hail, to blizzards and everything in between.
Before stopping in Wichita, she worked at KTEN in Denison, TX, as the morning meteorologist and KRCG in Jefferson City, MO, as a fill-in meteorologist.
She is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia where she earned her bachelor of science in meteorology. She also obtained the prestigious National Weather Association Seal of Approval in 2011. The NWA Seal represents excellence in broadcast meteorology, exceeding the standards of the National Weather Association.
In her free time, she can be found exploring Kansas City with her fiancée Stephen, playing with their two rescue dogs Zoey and Bentley, working out, shopping, experimenting in the kitchen or spending time with friends and family.
Shulman is anxious to get involved in the community and meet new people. She asks people to not be a stranger if they see her out and about.
