Convicted cat hoarder in legal trouble again

Posted: Updated:
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A woman with a history of hoarding animals is in trouble with the law again.

Delores Metcalf faces 32 new municipal charges. This includes citations for living in an unsafe dwelling, exceeding the limit on dogs and cats in a residence, abuse, neglect and an odor issue.

The municipal animal shelter took in 14 cats and a dog from Metcalf's Northland home, which has previously been declared unsafe by authorities. Most of the animals are in fair condition, with one of the cats due to give birth to a litter of kittens any day now.

Some of the cats, officials said, might be eventually put up for adoption, while others would do better on a farm looking for mice.

Dead rodents and a dead dog were found at the home, authorities said.
