Full throttle: Louisville outpaces Michigan to win NCAA title

ATLANTA, GA (WNEM) -

The Louisville Cardinals have won the third NCAA men's basketball title in the school's history Monday night by beating Michigan 82-76.

Luke Hancock scored 22 points for Louisville (35-5), who won their first national title since the Pervis Ellison-led Cardinals did it back in 1986.

National player of the year Trey Burke scored 24 points to lead Michigan (31-8).

The Wolverines jumped out to a 35-23 lead in the first half before Louisville went on a 14-1 to come roaring back.

Spike Albrecht also scored 17 points for the Wolverines.
