ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

On Friday, investigators released a new picture of a toddler who was found on the doorstep of an Anderson home earlier this week. Fox Carolina also obtained an exclusive photo of the toddler from the South Carolina Department of Social Services.

Capt. Garland Major Jr. of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said the unidentified girl, who is being called "Little Jane Doe," was dropped off about 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home on Brooke Forest Drive in Anderson.

Major said the homeowner heard the doorbell and when he opened the door, he found the girl, who is believed to be between 2 and 3 years old, in a stroller. He said the man told deputies he did not see anyone else around and did not recognize the child.

The man called 911 and when deputies arrived, they found a handwritten note on the girl's diaper that said "Call DFAC Please," according to Major.

Since the discovery, investigators have been working around the clock to identify the girl. Sheriff's Office spokesman Chad McBride said there are numerous states that have agencies with the similar acronyms, so they are urging anyone to help them identify the girl. McBride said the girl also has a scar on her chest, which may be from open-heart surgery. He said investigators are working with area hospitals, hoping to identify "Little Jane Doe."

McBride also says social media has helped to get the word out about the investigation. A recent post from the Anderson County Sheriff's Office reached 2 million people and bought in several tips.

The girl has been placed in a foster home during the investigation.

Anyone with information about the girl's identity was asked to call the Anderson County Sheriff's Office at 864-260-4400 or Crime Stoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
