KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Voters in KCK headed to the polls Tuesday to elect a new mayor, and they've chosen Mark Holland.

Holland defeated Ann Murguia by a margin of 56 percent to 43 percent.

After his win, Holland vowed to continue the city's recent economic progress, while also addressing challenges in underdeveloped areas of the city.

Holland, a United Methodist pastor, will succeed Mayor Joe Reardon, who chose not to seek a third term. He will be sworn in April 25.

Holland said his campaign was well-received.

He received endorsements from the last two mayors who spearheaded and executed development in west Wyandotte County, which includes the Kansas Speedway and The Legends shopping center.

Murguia gave her concession speech about 9:40 p.m.
