KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Rain or shine, thousands are out celebrating Easter and doing it in style.

Saturday at Zona Rosa Kansas City's annual Easter parade began at 11 a.m. and it is free. Those who attend got to see storybook characters and, of course, the Easter Bunny. There were also bunny photos and crafts available.

The Easter parade also has a best dressed contest. There were prizes for most outstanding boy, girl, family, pet and float.

KCTV5's Carolyn Long helped serve as a judge.

There are also several egg hunts going on in the metro over Easter weekend. Saturday Swope Park from noon to 2 p.m., Grove Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Anita B. Gorman Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will all host hunts. Sunday, Hyde Park will be hosting a hunt as well from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
