KINGMAN, AZ (CBS5) -

A Golden Valley man was arrested Friday after sheriff's authorities executed a search warrant and discovered he was growing marijuana inside his home.

Deputies said they found numerous plastic bags containing marijuana seeds and multiple jars containing marijuana at the residence in the 5000 block of Bali Hi Drive.

About $170,000 of marijuana was confiscated, which included 40 plants and more than four pounds of marijuana.

David Brawner, 51, initially called sheriff's dispatchers and told them several people outside his home were trying to shoot him, according to investigators. Brawner stated he had returned fire, deputies said.

Deputies said as they arrived at his house, Brawner stepped outside carrying an empty gun holster and a handful of ammunition. Authorities checked the surrounding area for signs of any gunmen but did not locate anyone.

As deputies conducted a safety sweep of the home, they said they saw two windows had been shot out from inside. They also noticed marijuana plants throughout the home, the sheriff's office said.

A shotgun, rifle and a .40-caliber handgun were confiscated.

Deputies said they did not locate any evidence showing that anyone had been shooting at the home.

Brawner was booked into the Mohave County Jail on charges of disorderly conduct with a weapon. He was also charged by Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team detectives with production of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
