KC business evacuated after partial roof collapse

Posted: Updated:
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The weekend snow may be to blame for a partial roof collapse at a Kansas City business.

Authorities were called about 1:30 p.m. Monday to Aspen Products, located in the 4200 block of Clary Boulevard, after reports of the collapse.

Nobody was inside that part of the building at the time of the accident, but the rest of the building was evacuated.

No injuries were reported.

The weekend snow also forced one Missouri newsroom to shut down.

KOMU in Columbia evacuated its building on Sunday morning. The station's engineers were concerned that the combination of heavy snow and high winds could cause the station's tower to topple on to the building.

The all-clear was given to return to the building a couple of hours later.
