KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A man is in custody after a standoff that began after officers heard gunshots while investigating a call, authorities said.

The situation began about 3 a.m. Fridays. Officers were called to the 700 block of East 27 Terrace on a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they stopped to talk to a man in the alley between houses. Police said that's when a man fired shots from a nearby window.

Police believe that is the same man who fired the initial shots. Officers surrounded the home.

After some time, police were able to get several people to leave the home. The man believed to have fired the shots was taken into custody.

No one was injured.
