RISING STAR, TX (KTAB/CNN) - Jack Bibby, a popular rattlesnake handler, spent the weekend in a hospital following his 12th snake bite.

Now that he's been released, he's ready to play with more snakes.

Bibby missed out on the Brownwood Rattlesnake Round Up because of the recent bite.

He's accustomed to getting bitten, sporting scars and a deformed thumb on his left hand where he was struck at least three times by a snake.

Bibby says he's garnered plenty of recognition for his snake handling over the years.

"I have been to Europe 14 times. I have been all over the United States. I've been in the Guinness Book of Records nine times," he said.

Next week, Bibby said he will be handling snakes again, this time in Big Springs, Texas for the Rattlesnake Round Up.
