One person was killed in a crash involving four different vehicles, and the wreck shut down an intersection.
The elderly woman, who suffered critical injuries, later died from those injuries. Authorities said she was driving her car the wrong way in the westbound lanes of Parallel Parkway when she struck three other vehicles.
Police aren't releasing the woman's name until they receive positive identification from her family.
The crash happened about 3:50 p.m. at 92nd Street and Parallel Parkway. Parallel Parkway was closed while officials investigated the cause of the crash.
The road was wet from precipitation, but it's unknown at this time if that was a factor.
Other people involved in the crash suffered minor injuries.
