INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV/AP) -
Authorities say a Kansas City woman is dead after jumping out of a moving vehicle.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the woman as 38-year-old Carla M. Cruz. She died Saturday night after leaping from a vehicle that a man was driving south along Interstate 470 in Independence.
Her body was taken to the Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office. Lee's Summit police assisted with the investigation.
The woman's husband, Nicholas J. Cruz, was driving the 2007 Chrysler that the woman fell from. No foul play is suspected.
Authorities are working to determine whether alcohol was involved. This happened about 9:30 p.m. south of Highway 40 on I-470.
