I-29 wreck
Cleveland Avenue and Gregory Boulevard wreck
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
It's now known what caused an overnight wreck that sent several people to the hospital.
Investigators said the multicar crash on Interstate 29 started when one of the vehicles stopped in the middle of the highway.
It happened about 1:30 a.m. Saturday near North Oak Trafficway in both the north and southbound lanes. Four to five vehicles were involved, and one of them had a child inside.
Three people were taken to the hospital – one of them with serious injuries.
Another crash involving two cars happened about 12:30 a.m. This one happened at Cleveland Avenue and Gregory Boulevard.
Police said none of the victims were seriously hurt, but one of the drivers was actually involved in a crash just down the street moments earlier.
After the crash at Cleveland and Gregory, the driver took off on foot and police were still trying to track him down.
