KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Perceus, the yellow lab missing since the explosion at JJ's restaurant on the Country Club Plaza in February, has been found.
The dog, also known as Percy, often stays at the medical clinic practice of Dr. John Verstraete, which was next door to JJ's. Perceus, his brother Zeus, Verstraete and employees were inside when the explosion occurred Feb. 19.
While Verstraete was able to rescue his dog Zeus, Perceus got scared from the loud noises and ran off.
Many organizations got involved in helping track down the dog. They would post on social media sites where he was last spotted and a search party was organized last Sunday.
Up until today, people only caught glimpses of the dog, who would run off whenever someone got near him.
Two-year-old Perceus was finally caught at 36th Street and Wabash Avenue, where he was reunited with his owner. The reunion was full of tears and applause as many had helped search for the dog and said they were filled with joy for the happy outcome.
The reward to find Perceus was up to $1,500.
