KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
Kansas City police are investigating a shooting that has left a woman in serious condition.
The shooting happened around 4 a.m. Friday in the 9200 block of Northeast Pawpaw Drive in the Northland.
Police said it appears the boyfriend shot the woman during a domestic disturbance. The couple is not cooperating, and the police aren't sure if the shooting was accidental or intentional.
The man was rushing the woman to the hospital when officers apparently saw the speeding car and attempted to stop it. The man wound up crashing the vehicle. At that time, officers got the woman to the hospital for treatment and began to question the man.
The woman is recovering at an area hospital.
