Woman, toddler freed from home, search for suspect continues

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Kansas City police ended a standoff without arresting the suspect.

The standoff ended about 1:30 a.m. Friday without officers finding the man they believed was hold up inside a residence in east Kansas City.

Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a house, located in the 8700 block of East Seventh Street, at 8:40 p.m. Neighbors told police that they heard gunshots.

Upon arrival, officers believed a person was barricaded inside the home.Officesr were able to get a woman and a 4-year-old safely from the home.

After surrounding the home for several hours, the standoff ended when officers entered the home and found no one inside.
