KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -
A young man was shot and killed during a party overnight in Kansas City, KS, authorities say.
Police say shortly after midnight Thursday, about five people were inside a home in the 3100 block of South 63rd Street when an argument started.
Someone pulled a gun and started shooting.
When officers arrived, a man in his 20s was found suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene. He was later identified as 20-year-old Tyler L. Manis.
Early in the day detectives said they were interviewing a person of interest. They later said they have a man in his 20s in custody, pending formal charges.
Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the shooting, police say.
