CLAY COUNTY, MO (KCTV) -
A leaking, overturned tanker truck has caused some home evacuations in rural Clay County.
Sheriff's deputies responded about 10:25 a.m. Tuesday to Highway MM west of Cameron Road near Holt, MO.
Authorities said the tanker truck was transporting 2,400 gallons of propane, and 55 gallon of liquid propane have spilled.
Deputies have secured an area of about 500 yards around the scene. Ten homes have been evacuated as a precaution, Lt. Will Akin said.
Hazmat crews have the leak contained and are waiting on a tow truck to arrive so the tanker can be uprighted.
The area will be closed for the next couple of hours. Authorities are still investigating why the tanker truck overturned.
The driver suffered minor cuts to his head and was treated at the scene.
