Driver dies after car crashes into tree in Prairie Village

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS (KCTV) -

Police say a speeding driver was killed after the car he was driving crashed into a tree.

Officers say the driver of the Suzuki Forenza was heading south on Roe Avenue near 67th Street just after 2 a.m. Monday when he lost control and left the roadway.

The driver, who was the only person involved in the wreck, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released the identity of the driver and are still investigating the accident.
