KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -
An overnight fire that appeared to have started in the kitchen area of a KCK home caused an estimated $150,000 in damage, fire department officials said.
The blaze broke out shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday at the two-story house in the 3600 block of North 63rd Street.
When crews arrived, flames were seen coming from the front of the home. The three adults and two children manage to escape safely.
Because of the potential of the roof collapsing, crews were forced to back out and fight the fire defensively.
No injures were reported.
