Two people have been injured after a car and train collided Thursday.
The Platte County Sheriff's Office responded about 11 a.m. to the area of 45 Highway and 45 Spur, north of Farley, MO.
The two people in the car sustained head injuries and were transported to area hospitals by ambulance.
The roadways in the area were extremely treacherous, authorities said, and Platte County Public Works responded to the scene and cleared a path for the ambulances to get into the scene and then back out to Interstate 435.
Deputies said initial indications show that the vehicle was attempting to go around the barricades at the track, slid on wet snow and got stuck on the tracks.
