Man with box knife leads to standoff in northeast KC

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police arrested a suspected burglar armed with a box cutter after a brief standoff the city's northeast side.

Police say the man was caught inside a home in the 400 block of North Drury Avenue about 4:45 a.m. Thursday. Police Chief Daryl Forte was also on the scene.

The man was taken into custody about 7 a.m. without incident after he was talked out by police.

No injuries were reported.
