KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A local nonprofit that helps abuse and sex trafficking survivors is hoping police can track down thieves that broke in over the weekend.

When workers arrived at Veronica's Voice on Monday morning, they found shattered glass and thousands of dollars of property missing.

The crooks got in by smashing a large rock through the front door, and they cut through the padlock on the security door.

After that, they helped themselves to thousands of dollars in property.

"We lost three desktop computers, three laptop computers, some of which were very new. They were actually donations, which had come through just before Christmas," Lorraine Holden said.

Veronica's Voice also lost monitors, cameras and cash.

If you have any information about this crime, you are urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
