A news anchor for WCBS was arrested early Sunday morning after he is accused of trying to strangle his wife at their home in Darien.
Police were called to Rob Morrison's home around 1:30 a.m. where they found his wife, Ashley Morrison, with red marks on her neck. She told police that he became angry towards her and choked her.
Morrison was charged with second-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court.
"Rob and Ashley Morrison are cooperating fully with the authorities to insure that all of the information necessary to properly evaluate this unfortunate incident is made available," attorney Robert Skovgaard said in a statement. "The Morrisons are confident that a full review of this mater will show that the allegations have been greatly exaggerated."
According to its website, Morrison, who has more than 20 years of reporting experience, joined WCBS-TV in 2009 and anchors its morning and noon news.
