Missing 78-year-old Gladstone man found safe

GLADSTONE, MO (KCTV) -

A missing 78-year-old Gladstone man has been found safe.

Daryl T. Dodson was found about 6 a.m., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. No other details were immediately available.

Troopers issued a Silver Alert for Dodson after he went missing about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.

He was last seen at a Home Depot, located at 4704 E. Bannister Road. He suffers from dementia and kidney disease.

His friend lost sight of him after Dodson said he wanted to drive to Vermont, but he did not have a vehicle, authorities said.

Dodson's missing person's case was the third Silver Alert issued in the past two weeks in the metro area.

Finding him was especially urgent because in two of those cases, the senior citizens were found dead.
