City: Woman had 11 dogs, 3 cats at her Kansas City home

Posted: Updated:

Police were called out when authorities said an upset home owner confronted animal control officers confiscating her pets.

Kansas City limits residents to four animals per house. Authorities said the woman, who lives at 339 N. White Ave., had 11 dogs and three cats.

The woman told KCTV5 that she was watching her brother's seven dogs while his home is being renovated. The woman said an ex-boyfriend kicked in her front door, allowing the dogs to escape.

The woman was chasing the dogs in an effort to catch them when an animal control officer saw her and checked out the situation.

She said the cats were strays she just feeds.

Authorities allowed her to keep four dogs.

She was given 24 hours to clean up her house, which had trash and other issues.
