KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

One person is in critical condition after a crash that closed Interstate 70.

The wreck happened about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the westbound lanes near Manchester Trafficway.

A police dispatcher said they first received a report that a car was stranded in the center lanes of the interstate.

Although the investigation is ongoing, it's believed that the stranded car was hit by a tractor trailer.
