A sexual assault reported Tuesday afternoon on the campus of Maple Woods Community College has students and staff on high alert.
In an emergency notification posted on the school's website, officials said the suspect is described as a white man with white or gray hair parted down the middle. He is 5'2", 250 pounds, wearing sunglasses and flip-flops. The suspect vehicle is described as a late-model four-door Buick LaSabre, grayish-white in color, with unknown plates.
A spokesperson for the school said the victim was walking along Barry Road about 2 p.m. when she was picked up, brought to parking lot No. 5 and assaulted in the suspect's car. She got out of the vehicle and told a witness what had happened, who immediately alerted campus security.
A later statement posted to the school's website also said the victim wasn't a student and has no known connection to the school.
Campus police told school officials they've canvassed the entire campus and have no indication the suspect is still in the area.
This is the second sexual assault reported at the school in the past two months. In December, police were called to the building near Highway 152 and Barry Road because a man armed with a knife attacked someone.
Officials are looking into whether the two assaults are related.
