KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Police are on the scene of a deadly shooting Monday.

Investigators said a man was found dead on his front porch near North 29th Street and State Avenue on Monday. The shooting was reported at 12:13 p.m. at the Four Fountains Apartments.

No suspect information or age of victim has been released.

Police are investigating the circumstances. KCTV5 news photographer Brett Hacker reported seeing police evidence markers for nearly 40 shell casings.

Police hope with that many shots being fired that someone saw or heard something that can lead to an arrest. So far, police have only released that witnesses reported seeing two men in a dark-colored BMW.

The victim's name and age has not been released.

One resident told KCTV5 that she thought the gunfire was actually fireworks because the pops were so close together and so many sounded.

KCTV5's DeAnn Smith contributed to this report.
