Police seek gunman in multiple sub shop robberies

Posted: Updated:

Police need help finding the man who robbed several businesses over the weekend at gunpoint.

Police said about 2:15 p.m. Sunday, a man ran into the back area of the Jimmy John's, located at West 84th Street and Wornall Road, while employees were working, held them all at gunpoint, and demanded money from the register.

He got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene on foot.

Authorities believed the suspect in the robbery was also involved with the robberies that occurred at Planet Sub on West 75th and Wyandotte streets and the Walgreens at East 63rd Street and Troost Avenue.

Police said the suspect may be driving a dark-colored Chevy two-door, possibly a Cavalier.

Police obtained surveillance video from the incident and released still photos of the suspect.

Suspect is described to be 18-24 years old, approximately 6'1" with a slim build and a tattoo on his neck, wearing a hooded sweatshirt or jacket.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
