LEAVENWORTH COUNTY, KS (KCTV) -

One person is dead after a crash in Leavenworth County.

The wreck happened about 5 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 24/40 near Kansas Route 32 between Tonganoxie and Lawrence.

Investigators say one car crossed the center line and hit an oncoming car.

The driver of the first car, 86-year-old Thomas Dale Holland, of Basehor, was killed.

The Kansas Highway Patrol are still trying to figure out why Holland swerved into oncoming traffic.
