Police investigate stabbing at Independence hotel

INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -

Police are investigating a stabbing Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the disturbance call about 8:15 a.m. at the Budget Hotel at U.S. Highway 40 and Pittman Road.

Authorities say a group of people gathered at the hotel when an argument broke out. One person was stabbed and was taken to the hospital. He is expected to survive.

Police are still in the process of conducting interviews to determine exactly what happened and who is responsible for the stabbing.
