KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -
A gas leak has closed off some streets Saturday afternoon.
The leak was reported at a vacant building on Independence Avenue, near Winchester Avenue in Kansas City, MO. An official with Missouri Gas Energy said it appears vandals stole copper piping in the building, which caused the leak.
The fire department has closed Independence Avenue both directions in the area as a precaution.
Missouri Gas Energy crews are working to shut gas service to the entire building from the curb.
