Woman, 77, dies in wreck on U.S. Hwy 71

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A 77-year-old Kansas City woman died in a one-vehicle crash Wednesday on U.S. Highway 71 in east Kansas City

The wreck happened about 4 p.m. in northbound lanes of the highway near Swope Parkway.

Officers say the woman, identified as Maude Carter, apparently lost control and hit a concrete median.

Carter was the only person in the vehicle.
