Two pedestrians struck by vehicle at 13th and Oak

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon.

The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m. at 13th and Oak streets. Police on the scene said one vehicle was heading south on Oak when it rammed into another vehicle that was heading west on 13th. One of the vehicles ended up on a sidewalk, hitting two men.

The two pedestrians were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. One driver was treated at the scene and another was also taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries.

As of Friday, one pedestrian remains in the hospital in serious condition.

There is no word on the ages of the people involved.

The police department's traffic investigation section reviewed surveillance videos and have determined that there were several people in the area who may have witnessed the crash. They're asking that anyone who saw it call the Traffic Investigation Section at 816-482-8190 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
