Independence police investigate suspicious device

INDEPENDENCE, MO (KCTV) -

Police are investigating what they called a suspicious device Saturday evening.

A white cooler sealed shut with duct tape was found under a bridge near Little Blue Parkway and Selsa Road. Police have closed Little Blue Parkway Bridge and a section of Selsa Road while their bomb squad investigates.

The suspicious device was found roughly a mile from the Independence Event Center.
