SHAWNEE, KS (KCTV) -
A friend was doing a good deed by picking up the mail for an ailing neighbor.
But a crook, who apparently cased the residence, was inside burglarizing it when the woman arrived.
The man brandished a handgun and stole the woman's vehicle.
This occurred about 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the 5800 block of Long Street.
The woman waited about an hour after the incident to call police. She was unable to give enough information for police to develop a composite sketch.
The investigation is ongoing. Neighbors told KCTV5's Nima Shaffe that they were unaware of the robbery and described it as a quiet area.
