KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A Kansas City apartment was damaged during a fire that broke out Saturday morning.

The fire broke out in one unit inside HolmesWood Apartments on Cherry Street, near Holmes Road and 99th Street about 7:30 a.m.

The unit where the fire broke out was on the third floor. Units below and on either side suffered damage from water and smoke.

Neither firefighters nor residents suffered any injuries.

Flames also lit up the night sky at a house fire near 22nd Street and Oakley Avenue. Firefighters arrived on the scene just after midnight.

Authorities said someone lives in the two-story house, but wasn't at home when the fire started.

There's no word at this time what may have caused either fire.
