Officials search for suspect who fled after traffic stop

KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

Officials are looking for a suspect who fled during a traffic stop Saturday afternoon.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said they tried to stop a vehicle near Interstate 70 and North 78th Street shortly after noon for an expired tag. During the traffic stop, the suspect got out of the vehicle and ran.

They and Kansas City, KS, police officers are canvassing the area.
