KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Lea Finfera is mother of four children and wife to a soldier deployed in Afghanistan. She thoughtfully helps others.

So it was time to do something special for her, husband Rick Finfera decided.

While overseas in a war zone, he organized a day of pampering for his wife, including shopping and, a manicure, a limo ride, lunch and dinner. She got to see a flash mob organized for her at Union Station and ended the night at a Westport piano bar where her husband surprised her with a call via Skype.

"This has been the most surreal day ever," Lea Finfera said. "I just cannot even imagine thinking up something like this to do for somebody let alone actually having it happen to me."

She said she appreciates more than she can say her husband's gratitude, especially since he's so far away.

"I'm dealing with four kids. He keeps saying thank you for dealing with all that I do," she said. "It's definitely not a replacement for him being here because, obviously, I would definitely want him here, more than anything in the world."

She said their love remains strong despite the miles separating them.

"We can conquer the world. It doesn't matter what gets thrown at us, we can do it together. We're partners in life," she said.

Her husband called it a special Christmas mission he dubbed Operation Epic Day. The family lives in Florida but has family in Kansas City who Lea Finfera and the children are visiting for the holidays.
