1 firefighter injured while fighting blaze

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, KS (KCTV) -

One firefighter was injured while fighting a blaze at a home in Prairie Village on Saturday afternoon.

The fire started in the back of a home near West 87st Place and Catalina Street about noon. Crews from Overland Park, Leawood and Consolidated Fire District 2 of Johnson County worked to get the fire out.

One firefighter was injured when he slipped while on the roof. He was taken to the hospital where he is expected to recover.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
