KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

City officials are helping to control holiday clutter starting Wednesday, allowing residents to recycle non-artificial Christmas trees and lighting.

Used lighting can be dropped off at the city's three recycling centers located at 400 NW Barry Rd., 4707 Deramus Ave. and 9051 Hillcrest Rd.

Trees can be recycled at the two leaf and brush drop-off centers at 1815 N. Chouteau Twy., just south of the Missouri River, and 10301 Raytown Rd., located south of Interstate 470.

Drop-off centers are open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Jan. 12.

Proof of residency is required.
