Carjacking, shooting leaves 1 with critical injuries

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

An otherwise quiet Christmas Eve turned violent at an east side gas station.

The victim went to the BP station at 18th Street and Benton Boulevard to get gas and left in an ambulance after what appeared to be a carjacking.

Kansas City Police Captain Mark Folsom said surveillance video showed the victim at the pump in a white Dodge pickup. It then showed a small, red car pull up at 7:40 p.m. There was a tussle, Folsom said, then a shooting.

One robber left in the victim's pickup. Another followed in the car the two had arrived in.
