KANSAS CITY, KS (KCTV) -

A man in his 20s was fatally shot Saturday afternoon in KCK.

The man, later identified as 27-year-old Carl C. Jenkins, was found about 1:20 p.m. Saturday inside an apartment in the 7300 block of State Avenue.

"The circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated," according to a news release.

Last month, three people were shot in the same apartment complex during a fight.

Neighbors say they are surprised because a police station is right next door.

Jenkins' family has been notified of his death.
