KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

A little boy is in critical condition after being shot in a drive-by shooting.

He was one of two people shot in the 2400 block of Denver Avenue about 8:50 p.m. Saturday.

Originally it was reported the victim was a girl, but that was corrected Sunday night.

Police say the boy has life-threatening injuries. The other victim, an adult, was in stable condition.  Both were taken to area hospitals.

"People need to know that the violence isn't just affecting them, it is affecting the people that come to help, the first response people.  These gang people have no remorse for what they do.  They don't understand that the bullet does not have a name on it," said one woman who heard the gunfire.

Investigators have not made any arrests in the case., but it is reported that the suspect's car has been found.

Anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
