OSHA investigating workplace accident that killed Kansas City man

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Federal investigators from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are looking into a workplace accident that killed a Kansas City man earlier this week.

Kevin Edmondson, 33, died on Tuesday after he was struck by a semitruck at the YRC Freight operation at 3500 Booth Ave. A forklift was involved, according to federal records.

KCTV5's reporting partners at the Kansas City Star said police believe the accident was a result of miscommunication between the driver and a spotter at the warehouse. Edmondson reportedly joined the company in September and worked the night shift.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday. Donations may be made on behalf of Edmondson to Kansas City Hospice, 1200 Wornall Road, KCMO, 64145.
