Area firefighters were busy battling blazes Friday morning.
Firefighters in both Kansas City and KCK battled at least three house fires between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.
The first blaze occurred at 2:50 a.m. at 126 NE 43rd St., which is just off North Oak Trafficway in Kansas City's Northland. A family of three lost their home.
The second fire was at 327 Bales Ave. at 3:03 a.m. A woman and her son escaped this fire.
The third fire happened about 6 a.m. near Hagemann Street and South 15th Lane. Flames destroyed the vacant house.
