Police are releasing new details about one of the men they said tried to rob a Church's Chicken store Sunday night.
Police said 20-year-old Damon Leonard is known to be armed and dangerous.
They said Leonard and two other men walked into the fast food restaurant on 55th Street and Prospect Avenue Sunday night, put a gun to the manger's face and demanded money. The manager grabbed the gun and the three men ran off.
Police said the mom of one of the suspects turned him in, but they're still looking for Leonard and another unknown man. The second man is described as a black male, 18-27 years old, approximately 5'08"-5'10", weighing between 160 and 190 pounds. He was wearing a hooded Carhart jacket, a brown stocking cap, a striped polo, and jeans.
Leonard has been previously armed with the same type of gun used in the attempted robbery and police said if someone sees him, they are warned not to approach him.
Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
