Gunfire erupts outside east KC nightclub, 4 injured

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

Four people were injured, leaving one with critical injuries, after a gunman opened fire outside a nightclub on the city's east side.

Police were called about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to the Champ's Lounge and Grill located in the 3900 block of Jackson Avenue on the reported shooting outside the club.

Police say a man wearing black fired at the group, hitting two men and two women.  One of the women suffered critical injuries after she was hit in the abdomen.

One of the male victims was shot in the arm and the other in the leg. Both are expected to recover, police say.

No arrests have been made.

Police are investigating the shooting and ask anyone with information on it to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
