Health department shuts down Westport Vietnamese restaurant

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

It is not something people want to hear at lunchtime, but a Westport restaurant has been shut down by the health department.

Inspectors found dead and living cockroaches in ice bins and other locations inside Sung Son, a Vietnamese bistro located at 4118 Pennsylvania Ave. in Kansas City.

The Kansas City Health Department issued 59 citations, 10 of them critical.

The restaurant must now pay $100 for a re-inspection that will happen in the next 10 days before it can reopen.
